Update: A Glass of Bread

Friday, January 20, 2017: 0.9 lbs this week, ⬇ 1.4 lbs this year, ⬇ 7.9 lbs over all.

This week, I learned the truth of a Vinnie Tortorich saying:

"Beer is nothing but a glass of bread, and wine is just a glass of sugar."

I was getting back on the NSNG bandwagon in the new year, until last weekend, when... happy hour. And a few other occasions (including a couple of last-minute "pop-up parties" with my friends from the rowing club). I stayed away from sugars and grains, for the most part, but the truth is, Big Dave loves him some beer.


It's easy to find information on the internet about the health benefits of fermented beverages, but beer and wine are both heavier in carbs than distilled liquor, and in my personal experience, either one will halt my progress quicker than anything.  So, much as it pains me, I'm going to have to put Port City IPA, Two Buck Chuck, and all of my other favorite adult bevvies on the "Life into Living" list -- reserved for the most special of occasions.  Hopefully this will get me back on track for next week.  Viva la Vodka!
